Health hazards are chemical, physical or biological factors in the environment that can have negative impacts on our short- or long-term health. Exposure can occur through the route of exposure i.e., absorption, inhalation, and ingestion.
Understanding the risks associated with the chemicals can help us take action or to mitigate these risks.
This course on “Health Hazards” is based on the United Nations ‘Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals’ (Revision 9, 2021) or the GHS Purple Book.
According to GHS, there are 10 Hazards classes in Health Hazards.
This course provides the background on GHS, its application and implementation, and how hazard classification and communication works.
The technical content is interspersed with Activities, Case Studies, and downloadable Resource Materials.
The duration of this training 120 minutes. Participants have 30 days to complete this training course. The course is self-paced and online, so it is entirely up to the participant to manage their own time.
