Overview

Welcome to the 'Waste' section of the Higg FEM course. This module aims to assist facilities in achieving Level 2 in the Higg FEM Waste Section.

Throughout this course, participants will learn how to establish baselines for reducing both non-hazardous and hazardous waste, as well as set targets for waste reduction. The course also focuses on establishing baselines and formal plans to improve the waste disposal methods employed by the facility. Learners will gain insights into best practices for waste management. The training also emphasizes demonstrating improvements by reducing the generation of both non-hazardous and hazardous waste.

The Training program is run entirely online in the form of an audio-visual learning. You will be able to take the training at your convenient time. The Technical Content in the Training is interspersed with Activities, Knowledge Checks, and downloadable Resource Materials.  

You will be given access to the training course for 6 Months from the moment you launch the course.

The duration of this course is 60-90 minutes.

Structure

 This course will provide the participant with an outline on the details required to be filled in the Waste Section of the Higg FEM self-assessment. Additionally, the following topics will be covered in the Training-

• Establishing baselines for reducing both non-hazardous and hazardous waste.
• Identifying facility’s waste disposal methods and setting baselines to improve the same.
• Establishing formal targets to reduce both non-hazardous and hazardous waste, and to enhance waste disposal methods.
• Implementing best practices for waste management.
• Developing formal plans to enhance waste disposal methods.
• Demonstrating improvements by reducing the generation of both non-hazardous and hazardous waste.
