Overview

Welcome to Higg FEM V4.0 'Chemicals Management' section. This training aims to highlight the general practices and criteria outlined in the Higg FEM for Chemical Management Section.

The Training program is run entirely online in the form of an audio-visual learning. You will be able to take the training at your convenient time. The Technical Content in the Training is interspersed with Activities, Knowledge Checks, and downloadable Resource Materials.

You will be given access to the training course for 6 Months from the moment you launch the course.

The duration of each course is 8 – 9 hours.

• Introduction to Chemical Management (Q1 – Q5)
• Understanding Safety Data Sheets (Q6)
• Health and Safety (Q7 – Q10)
• Understanding MRSLs and RSLs (Q11 - Q12)
• EHS, Chemical Storage and Training (Q13 – Q18)

Higg FEM V4.0 Chemical Management Section – Level 2

• Engaging with contractors, subcontractors, and upstream suppliers regarding MRSL/RSL compliance.
• Assessing the capabilities and authority of CMS Team members.
• Developing a CMS Implementation plan for continuous improvement.
• Implementing procedures for chemical/raw material traceability.
• Sourcing chemicals from approved positive lists.

Higg FEM V4.0 Chemical Management Section – Level 3

• Adopting and implementing Chemical Management Industry Standards such as ZDHC Supplier to Zero
• Establishing a transparency policy for communicating information on chemical products, waste, and wastewater
• Collaborating with brands and chemical suppliers to evaluate safer chemical alternatives·      
• Conducting product lifecycle assessment      
• Engaging Supply-chain partners to procure chemicals from positive lists that go beyond RSL or MRSL requirements
