Overview

Welcome to this training course on Higg FEM V4.0 – ‘Waste’ Section.

On completing this training, learners will get a complete overview of the requirements and guidelines to complete all 3 levels of the Higg FEM (V4.0) Waste Section. 

The Training program is run entirely online in the form of an audio-visual learning. You will be able to take the training at your convenient time. The Technical Content in the Training is interspersed with Activities, Knowledge Checks, and downloadable Resource Materials.

You will be given access to the training course for 6 Months from the moment you launch the course.

The overall duration of this training is 4-5 hours.

Structure

 Higg FEM V4.0 Waste Section – Level 1

·         Common sources of air pollutants at manufacturing facilities and difference between point source and fugitive emissions 

·         Recording data to track Air Emissions

·         Information required to create an air emission inventory 

·         Relation between ODS and Air/GHG Emissions

·         Refrigerants and other Ozone depleting substances

·         Monitoring and preventing refrigerant leaks

Higg FEM V4.0 Waste Section – Level 2

• Establishing baselines for reducing both non-hazardous and hazardous waste.

• Identifying facility’s waste disposal methods and setting baselines to improve the same.

• Establishing formal targets to reduce both non-hazardous and hazardous waste, and to enhance waste disposal methods.

• Implementing best practices for waste management.

• Developing formal plans to enhance waste disposal methods.

• Demonstrating improvements by reducing the generation of both non-hazardous and hazardous waste.

Higg FEM V4.0 Waste Section – Level 3

·         Validating the final disposal and treatment of all non-hazardous waste.

·         Demonstrating waste disposal using one of the preferred methods listed in the Higg FEM.

·      Demonstrating willingness to participate in a circular economy system
